Re: Goose Chase
This ought to draw some attention to the class.
First prize will include a new FF Chassis from ABC Hobby.
When was the last Time You were Racing for a new Rc.
Stick with me Racing it can only get better from here.
The more people I can get to race the more sponsors I can draw the better the prizes.
I am working on a location for carpet racing this fall and winter so tell all your friends and lets get down to racing.

Re: Goose Chase
WOW very sweet deal Rob. I think this will be a great class of racing. It is totally a drivers class. These cars are much more difficult to drive than a 4wd car. I am really interested in the new FWD car from ABC. The early pics are super cool.

Re: Goose Chase
I got the definitive answer from ABC today concerning the long dogbones and long pivot ball that are listed on the Goose option parts listing: Neither will work on the Goose; they are meant for the 4WD Genetic.
I suggested that they remove those parts from the Goose option parts list so as not to confuse people.

Re: Goose Chase
they have to be visible through the windshield and they will be velcroed to the car. Velcro will be supplied at the race.

Re: Goose Chase
To all you fellow Goose drivers out there: If you are interested in the Exotek Racing carbon fiber chassis set for the Goose you need to email Mike at the following address: performance@exotekracing.com
They are not sure they are going to make the Goose carbon fiber chassis as they are concerned that there is not enough of a following for this car to make it worth it for them to produce.
There is a picture of it on the rctech.net forums on the Electric Onroad forum under the thread about the ABC Hobby Goose

Re: Goose Chase
I don't have a problem with it. They will fit the car better. They will have less punch than LiPo, but that shouldn't be a problem for this class. Lol. We will see what dave says.

Re: Goose Chase
Some very good points. The weight may be the best one of all. I personally avoid Nimh packs at all cost. I like the fast charge rate and better run times of LiPo.

Re: Goose Chase
I have no problem with 6 cell 7.2V nimh packs if that is what you want to try. Go for it. I personally am going to stick with my lipo pack as I no longer have any nimh packs, and I'm not going to spend any money buying them. If I have to I will add more weight to the car rather than go to nimh packs.

Re: Goose Chase
I know since I'm not racing in this class I shouldn't be posting a comment here but anyway I would like to remind everyone that since the introduction of lipos to rc the quality of nimh packs has got worse and I don't think they were all that good to begin with. The point I want to make is for everyone to be very careful if you are going to use these packs because you will be outside in the heat not a controlled temp environment like indoor tracks and nimh packs get hot while charging and discharging and any that I have had didn't like heat they like to go bang when they get to hot.Just my 2 cents and as everyone knows I have no cents LOL. Be safe and have fun

Re: Goose Chase
I agree; but then I admit that I am biased towards lipos. I just don't like nickel metal and I'm not wasting my money on old technology that is going the way of the dinosaurs. I'm sticking with lipos all the way!! They race the Goose outdoors in California and they seem to do all right with it, and they use lipo batteries from what I've seen. If they can do it, so can we. We just need to work on our car setup and our driving and it will get better.

Re: Goose Chase
I wasn't trying to say they shouldn't be used just that if you do a little more caution should be used.I'm sure a lot of people still have nimh and want to get there moneys worth out of them just watch the temps on them.

Exotek now is showing the goose conversion in the exotek store. Please visit the site and click the notify me link. This is the only way they will build the conversion chassis.
