I'm not sure about any one else but I wasn't very happy with the stock tires on my slash. Maybe it's the size but traction just doesn't seem to like being scaled down. The problem is that no one makes tires for the 1/16 slash yet. So until Pro-Line gets off their ass and put some thing out, I've been trying to find an alternative. Also since I'm short on funds it needs to be cheap. This is the best I've found so far. I used a set of extra Tamiya rims from my Jeep and a set of Tamiya Rally Block tires part number 50476. I spent $20 for the tire the rims are $12. So not bad for $32 plus shipping. I picked these because they are supposed to have the same outside diameter as the stock tires. They are close but not the same. As you can see in the picture the new tires are just a little larger. I haven't gotten them on the track yet, but It looks like I won't need to cut the wheel openings and if I do it will only be minor. One thing I did notice about the new tires is that according to Tamiya they are a "soft" compound. If you're used to stock Tamiya tires this may be true, but compared to my Pro-Line Flat Irons they are hard. Also with the stock 1.9 rims the scale looks are lacking.
