I'm looking in to getting a sc truck, I'm leaning towards a Blitz, or a Slash. But does anybody know anything about the Venom Gambler? My other hobby is poker, so naturally the Gambler kind of apeals to me as well, but haven't seen or heard too much about it. Anyway, leave a post if you have an opinion either way.

Looks like a nice truck. Traxxas parts are easier to come by and a brushless system is the way to go. Traxxas is water proof too.

yeah, youre right about the availability of the parts,I also own a Rustler and Stampede. Just thought I'd try something other than a Traxxas. I'm thinking maybe the Blitz.

Even the Blitz will have better parts support than the venom. but the gambler does have some unique features

I am planning to get a SC truck also. I am looking at getting a SC10 Brushless, which is lipo ready; should be good to go for 1:10 ROAR class if they let you run the stock brushless that came with the RTR.

No prob... and one I left out and still the fastest 2wd on our track... is a 2wd slash with the STRC LCG kit...sure its a bit of extra cash ($70 or so) but if you can find a slash used cheap... and do the $45 STRC kit and $25 worth of rustler parts it makes it more than competitive with ANY other SC trucks...

Re: Want to buy a short course...
its to bad associated only has a 1/8 scale 4wd electric short course type truck. I hear its a nice truck but it won't be able to race in the 1/10 4wd class. It's too bad because I bet a 4wd SC10 would be a great truck as most say it is the better 2wd racer. Right now you only have Traxxas and ofna with a 1/10 4wd. To me 4wd is the way to go but, your choices are limited. That's just my humble opinion.

Re: Want to buy a short course...
Ah I did not think of the slayer conversion (good idea) and was not aware of the durango. Still only two major manufacturers have 4wd 1/10 scale offerings. Not sure why Associated, Losi or HPI/Hotbodies don't have one yet. As I said the associated sc8e looks awesome just not sure why they went 1/8th scale when most of the racers in short course electric are racing 1/10. I hope some new 4wd 1/10 scales come out from some of the other companies just as they did for the 2wd's.

It is possible that the more race oriented brands don't want to get their feet wet until may be ROAR have something solid on paper regarding 4wd SCT's.
