    Slayer Experiences? Empty Slayer Experiences?

    Post  orgnoi1 Tue Jun 08, 2010 7:15 am

With the onset(onslaught...LOL) of the season we have had quite a few more nitros running at TBG so we have decided to plunk down on a couple slayers to run as well... my son has been bugging me for a while since he traded in his T-Maxx to get another but we have been holding off because of all the BS we went through trying to keep that thing running...

So what I am asking... is if anyone has any practical knowledge of the slayer platform... any help would be appreciated!

I heard they dont handle as well as the electric slash. I heard thre wheelbase is narrower, and has a higher center of gravity...

No so much expecting it to be "better handling" although you definately can set them up to handle quite well... my 4x4 slash though is insanely set up so it would be tough to say I could ever match it...

I kinda figured that no one has one of these things locally... its not the most sought after truck since the slash 2wd and 4x4 came out... should be a lot of fun though... I did get to see one run a couple weeks back... and when it hits second gear it was REALLY impressive...

Well... as of right now I am "almost" happy...LOL Ken was over when we got these two slayers in... and they were a mess... even HE was cupping his hand over his ears with all my swearing...LOL I can happily say that aside from a couple parts on order and replacing the center diffs that our trucks are close to being done... I worked way into the night and then from 5am to 7am this morning cleaning and rebuilding...

Well we got them both running last night... gonna take some getting used to tuning and also the difference in the trucks from a slash... but certainly fun... and WAY fast on the road...

my slayer handled like crap out of the box....im sure if i took my time i could of tuned the suspension and got her running good....but i traded it in and bought the sc8....wish i still had the slayer also for the collection.

yeah once you do the few upgrades/changes it handles pretty good... we have ours tune up pretty good too... they will run right along with a slash 4x4 dialed in now...
