TUESDAYNIGHTS ! Carpet Shortcourse. Starts March 15th !

Science and Hobby will now have short-course racing on tuesday nights.

Racing signups start @ 5pm until 6. Races promptly start at 6:15 for first heat.

3 Classes:
STOCK SLASH (brushless or brushed)
STOCK SLASH 4x4
OPEN TRUCK (any brand)

Upon demand, there will be a MOD class, but this is NOT about being fast, but skilled driving.

Also open is open right? Any brushless system in a slash? Not that I'm running some 700.00 system I'm runnin a hobbywing 6000kv.

what about the sc-10 we have 2 and one losi truck all stock and what about jumps if not get some that made the class at rch go from 3 trucks to over 22 trucks now every week it is so fun

Starting A thread for Tuesday Nite Indoor Carpet off road racing at Science and Hobby in Watervliet NY.

I wanted to let people in the Albany NY and surrounding areas of a new race program starting next week at Science and Hobby.

Currently in the 36x50 foot carpet racing area, I have gotten 3 series of jumps , a section of washboard whoops and mine field area already tested and ready for racing.

There will be a test nite Next Tue 3/15/2011

I am going to put flyers out over the area and post on the other RC Forums to get interest.

Basically there will be 3 or 4 classes run

Sportsman--- Beginner,young to old,new vehicle shake down class. You can run any non knobby or pin tire 1:10 or smaller vehicle. Pretty much anything from a Radio Shack to the best of the best in quality can run in this class


Stock 2 and 4wd- stock buggies or truck 7.2v NiMh brushed or brushless Stock setup.

Stock and Open 2 and 4wd Short Course truck. Stock is box stock and open will be like a mod class

Micro/Mini 1:16,1:18/1;24 Buggy,Truck, SC Truck, Brushed or Brushless, NiMh or LiPo 2S. this class will have some wiggle room and Foams will be allowed.

Here is what I come up with so far... I am asking that this be fun and exciting for all. From a 5yr old that brings his box stock slash,sc10,vendetta ect to the select few that fast n nimble is still not fast n nimble enough.

any class will run as long as there are 3. If not then we will figure out where to fit the vehicle and skill level in in a as needed basis.


2 & 4wd stock & open Stadium Truck.

2 & 4wd Buggy / Truck stock

Mini-Micro 1:16 1:18 scale.

Sportsman: (Beginner Class) Almost anything with rubber tires

NiMh Sub C's,2/3A – 6 cell max, no 7 or 8 cell packs. LiPo’s to 7.4v 2S.

Three - 5-minute qualifiers and 6 minute mains

All cars / trucks must have tape over screws on bottom of chassis to prevent carpet tears.
Buggies cannot have screws protruding past the locknuts on the front shock tower & need tape also.

All SC Trucks must run SC style bodies, wheels, & tires. – No 8th buggy tires or stadium truck tires or bodies.

Stock Tires only on 2-4wd SCT’s – No pins or bumps! (Crossing brands ok. Example: running Blitz tires on a Slash, etc.)
Any rubber tire ok for Buggies, Stadium Trucks, & 4wd SCT’s. (No Foam tires)

Legal Motors – Motors included w/ an RTR SCT (crossing brands ok), 27T rebuildable stocks, or 17.5 B/L only! (except Pro-4)

Open Class- Any aftermarket parts allowed, Any brushless motor/ESC allowed. 1:10 scale equipment. NON spike or knobby tires

1:16 -1:18 scale mini/micro class – 7.4v NiMh or LiPo 2s, Brushed or BL motor combo up to 5400kv or otherwise Ok’d by race director. Rubber and Foams tires are OK for this class only. Chassis screws taped like above classes.
