convincing the parents......

im trying to get into SC, but the parents are a little skeptical.
i thought if i could get my mom into it,I might be able to buy a used Slash or something. it isn't as easy as i tought it was gonna be....
so...what type of racing would be good to introduce my mom into, like carpet, drift, touring or even rock crawling?

The slash is really a great place to start. Try bringing her to one of the tracks to watch the races. You can race them on the carpet or run them in the yard. Realy a lot of fun.

the next race is like sunday right?

We will be racing saterday night in south glens falls. we have a short course class that runs the road course and the oval. They switch back and forth week to week.

what time is that?

Racing starts at 6pm each sat. We had a great time this week. We added 3 jumps to the road course. I think it really brought the short course class to life. This is what these trucks were ment to do.

I agree 100% with Brett. The SC class was a blast last night.

unfortunatly, my mom doesnt think that a SC is 'right' for me (and she thinks they're too expensive)......so im thinking Legends? are these popular? or should i get something else?

The problem with the legends car you posted is that it is really only for running on carpet or dirt tracks. not something you can run in the back yard or at the park. You also need to buy a radio, motor, servo, speed control,paint for the body, Battery and charger. As a kid I bought one of them, all my friends had RC10's and monster trucks. They ran all over and my road car could drive around in the driveway. I quickly lost interest. If You just want to race then the legends is a nice spec class

The Short Course Trucks are the best value and you can do pretty much anything with them.you can race them one night and then bring them home and bash in your yard or in a parking lot.There are no real indoor short course tracks in the area yet but I have heard there might be in the near future,there are some outdoor tracks that will open when the weather is warmer.You can run them on carpet but they are nowhere near as much fun as they are on a real dirt offroad track,but again to answer your question the short course truck is your best buy.The Slash is a good truck but in my opinion the Losi XXX SCT RTR is by far a much better truck and for 229.00 RTR all you have to buy is a cheap battery and chargerand you are racing or bashing.

If you get up around Fort Edward go to Robs Extreme right on Main St,he had a used Slash when I was in there on Thursday and he is pretty good on his prices.

The slash is still here and I would be willing to put a brushed motor and speed control back in it to make it raceable and drop the price alittle from its now brushless price tag

its $250 brushless with 7 cell. It also has strc castor blocks and aluminum rear a-arms. comes with 2 bodies and brand new tires and wheels.
