Re: Road Course racing at RCH
The thing I keep hearing is lead lap cars and being down 4 or 5 laps to the lead lap car,if you are up that many laps then I would think you have enough cusion that you can take a few laps to get by a slower car and if you can't you still beat them just not by as many laps.It also goes the other way when a lead lap car comes up on a slower car so fast and just stuffs him into the wall so it goes back to give and take.I know I'm not racing in that class for a few weeks now but it's the same problem that has always been there, sorry if you think I shouldn't be commenting on the subject but oh well.

Re: Road Course racing at RCH
When I raced regular I for a long time would try to move out of the way when someone came up behind me sometimes to the point that I would slam the wall or even take out the car that was trying to pass me,then more than one person told me to just run my line and if the person that was trying to pass me was good enough driver they would figure how to get around me.My point is that sometimes drivers cause more problems trying to be nice instead of making the person trying to get around them just be patient and wait for the right time.

Re: Road Course racing at RCH
This will be the last post I will make on this subject. All I was saying is that i thought every one needs to give each other more of a cushion on the track. I never wanted to point fingers and I was just using the front stretch incedent as an example. See you guys Saturday

Re: Road Course racing at RCH
If Ken is reading this thread I am asking that he conduct a brief drivers meeting this Saturday the 5th to go over these and any other concerns. Since we start racing at 6:00 maybe we could have the drivers meeting at 5:45 and keep it to no more than 15 minutes.
To everyone else, I think this topic has been "discussed to death" on this thread/forum. Let's have a drivers meeting this Saturday and put this issue to rest
and get on with having fun and racing!

Re: Road Course racing at RCH
I look at the the whole thing as a learning experience, and reinforces what Brett has said many times. This is my first year racing on the carpet, I have a used car, and I'm used to off road. I found out my car had some maintenance issues with the steering and rear diff. I didn't know enough about my car to realize what was wrong until I tore it down to fix some other things. Accidents happen and I know I've made plenty. I've learned that slowing down and driving within my ability means less broken parts and more laps even though I do slip a bit. When I first started coming to RCH everyone was a big help. It is a very friendly atmosphere. For the most part we've only had just one rough week (this past one). This might not have made much sense, I've been up 36 hours and I've had to much coffee, but lets put it behind us, put our smiles back on and have fun.

Yeah but it was my post that got the ball rolling... I don't dare post my picture of the emaxx with the photoshopped sweep tires on it...
Ok this horse has been beat to death. See you all Saturday!

Re: Road Course racing at RCH
Well, I spoke to Ken and it looks like we will have a brief drivers meeting this Saturday before we start the heat races. So try to make it there on time so that everyone can have a part.

We cleared out some posts just to clean/shorten it up. Nothing was wrong with any of them. No offense intended. Just wanted to make it easier to read through. If there is anything that was deleted that you feel was important feel free to repost. Be sure to keep it positive and constructive.

Re: Road Course racing at RCH
Remember there are two drops at the end of the season. Your two lowest scores are dropped. That will change things up quite a bit.

Re: Road Course racing at RCH
Still racing Saturday nights, at least through the end of April.
Let us hear if you are interested in racing on a weekday evening through the summer. A few have said that Wednesday nights would be good for them. It would be 7 o'clock start time with 2 rounds of qualifying and a main. Only $10 entry fee to run as many classes as you want!
