I recently aquired one in a deal... I am running it in our guest slash now and it runs fantastic... its underpowered by most peoples standards when you think of a brushless system... but it more than adequately runs the 2wd slash around in the hands of a newer driver...

The one I got was the 35A/9T Setup

The esc most combos come with is a good one. The EZRUN brand is used and recommended by many and at the price, you can get 2-3 for the price of 1 good branded option. If you order a combo package online, be aware most ship from China so you're looking at a long wait.

Probably will take awhile, but it was in the price range. My buddy waited 3 weeks for aluminum shock towers for his Tamiya DF-02 once. I picked up the 60A/5.5T for my Rustler. Probably going to get the onroad version for my 4tec

I run HSP (maker of all the hobbywing, Speed Passion, EZ RUN) in the REDCAT mod cars. Juneholla has the older version of the ESC and they are awesomely fast with the motor combo for a 2260kv. Some have a programing card, but I've never needed it.

only drawback... no real warntee with them as they are overseas supplied and due to the nature of electronics, no recourse of busted.

Wow, consider yourself lucky! If customs decides to poke at it it can take up to a month. www.hobbypartz.com has EZruns in stock in the US for about $15.

Do any of the shops sell ezruns or turnigys or the like locally? I wouldn't mind paying a decent amount more to get it in my hand the day I pay for it.

I have been running the hobbywing EZ Run 4000kv 8.5 turn 60a esc "$97 set up" all summer with no problems at all. I got it from hobbypartz.com, you can also get it from dealextreme.com with free shipping. It is fast but if you plan on doing any real racing you won't find a class to race as most classes are 17.5 or 13.5, the first time I went to R/C madness I ran in the sedan 17.5 rubber tire class and got smoked. Don't get me wrong it's fast but no match to a 17.5 with a Tekin RS that's all boosted up with a bunch of timming. It really depends what you want to do. If you plan on racing look at the classes before you buy anything you don't want to spend money twice. If you want to buy mine pm me - Jeremy
